COVID 19: PART III: A WARNING

Earlier essays about the corona virus have been posted on this

website and have been amazingly prescient about its course.

Many states have “reopened “ for business and the murder in

Minneapolis of George Floyd has led to mass demonstrations

throughout the country with violations of social distancing

recommendations. As travel resumes, as businesses reopen,

many states are showing an uptick in new cases of viral

infection. People are assuming that there is now a return to

normal. Regrettably, nothing could be further from the truth.

Social distancing remains a necessity as does the use of personal

protective gear. Covid 19 infection is not a minor inconvenience.

People die from this infection. There is no second wave of the

virus. This is simply an exacerbation of the first wave which

never went away as the original “lockdowns” were incomplete

and inadequate.

As America moves forward, it is recommended that all follow the

previously announced safety precautions. This pandemic is

highly contagious and dangerous. Do not be lulled into a false

sense of security and assume that all has returned to normal. It

hasn’t . Be careful, be safe, be vigilant and stay healthy. The

pandemic will not be forever but it is still raging on. Now is not

the time to throw all caution to the wind.
