Quote of the Day: A Warning for Joe Biden

President Biden and his national security staff, particularly Secretary Blinken, Secretary Austin and National Security Adviser Sullivan should pay attention to the following quote of President Lyndon Johnson:
“In Asia we face an ambitious and aggressive China, but we have the will and we have the strength to help our Asian friends resist that ambition. Sometimes our folks get a little impatient. Sometimes they rattle their rockets some, and they bluff about their bombs. But we are not about to send American boys 9 or 10,000 miles away from home to do what Asian boys ought to be doing for themselves.”
This quote is taken from remarks LBJ made on October 21, 1964 during a campaign appearance at Memorial Hall at Akron University, Akron, Ohio. President Johnson, who had succeeded the assassinated President John F. Kennedy less than a year earlier was now seeking to be elected in his own right. On Election Day 1964 he won one of the greatest landslides in American history, defeating his Republican opponent, Senator Barry M. Goldwater of Arizona.
President Johnson had a massive domestic program called the “Great Society”. Many of his domestic legislative accomplishments endure to this day and have truly changed America. However, his foreign adventure in Vietnam destroyed his presidency and by 1968 he could barely appear in public.
United States foreign policy today, operating on the principle of liberal hegemony has involved itself in the affairs of practically every nation in the world. American troops are deployed in heaven only knows how many countries and are involved in untold numbers of low level conflicts. This must stop as we cannot afford any more wars which ultimately destroy our country little by little. Much is wrong with this world, but President Biden must remember, whether he likes it or not that he was elected President of the United States not President of the World. Despite the foreign policy elite’s declaration that we are the “indispensable nation” we are not. To quote Robespierre: “ Armed missionaries are not needed”. Biden and Company will do to remember this if they want to avoid LBJ’s fate.
