As Joe Biden and his national security team, Blinken, Sullivan and others globe trot the world seeking to remake the world in America’s image, some words for the wise are called for. Biden is trying to engage China, warning them to behave. He is insinuating the United States into matters that are the rich and powerful European Union’s business, while at the same time Antony Blinken tours East Africa, warning Ethiopia and other countries that they must establish democracy. The foreign policy elite is still trying to induce Iran into giving up their nuclear program while policing the rest of the world. Something has got to give. Liberal hegemony has overextended us everywhere. Enough is enough. This must stop! Very noble, but, just what is the interest or business of the United States in determining the internal affairs of foreign countries? NATO, over seventy years of age, in no longer North or Atlantic, but it is still American as its members are unreliable and refuse to fulfill their commitments. American troops are still stationed in Europe seventy-six years after World War II ended. Just what is the administration up to? Are we the policemen of the world?
Our quotes for the day are important and should be read by the powers in the
White House as well as all Americans.
1. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
George Santayana-Philosopher- The Life of Reason, 1905.
2. We are not yet really ready to lead the world to salvation…We have got to
save ourselves first.
George F. Kennan. American diplomat and statesman, in an address at
Dartmouth College, February 14, 1949.
I believe that these quotes are self-explanatory and all who are in a decision making position should consider these and other quotes posted on this blog seriously. War is dangerous and costly in human life as well as treasure. American troops are stationed in many countries, who knows how many? American advisors are in combat situations though this is not reported by the media. Advisors led us into the catastrophic war in Viet Nam. We cannot afford another such adventure. Clear determination of just what are vital American interests is mandatory. The Congress must step up and exert its constitutional responsibilities in matters of war. It cannot and must not be ceded to the UN or other organizations. The Viet Nam era War Powers Act has proven to be totally ineffective. No war has been declared by the Congress since 1941, yet we have fought numerous undeclared wars since then and the cemeteries are unfortunately still filling. Enough! The Congress must protect American sovereignty if the executive will not.
