Enough Already!

Readers of this blog already have an impression of where the author stands on many

current issues of the day. It is with chagrin and concern for our country that this post is

being written. At this moment, the Dow Futures are down over 800 points and the price of gold is over $4700 an ounce indicating the continuing debasement of the American dollar. Current events on all fronts, domestc and international, are indicative of a chaos and turmoil that has never been seen before in peacetime. The national debt is $38 trillion and growing. The Federal Reserve Board is under political attack over interest rates which it prudenty sets with regard to its dual Congressional mandate of low inflation and full employment. Law violations and associated riots, demonstrations and violence are seen on television and are becoming too normal. Elected officials are utilizing vulgarisms when speaking to the press and public, and civility is disappearing. Violence is becoming the norm, and a society which accepts the absurd and insane as normal is surely in an accelerating state of decline. The executive branch of government is seeking to expand its power while ignoring the legislative and judicial branches, often with the connivance and approval of those co-equal branches of government. The Constitution faces reinterpretation and is threatened. Enough already!

The capitalist economic system of the United States is under attack. Public companies have been told that they cannot pay their executives more than a certain amount, and warned that share buybacks and dividends are subject to government oversight. Banks have been told that the amount of interest they charge on credit cards will be limited by presidential fiat.

Moves are underway to prevent investors from owning real estate to rent as both parties seek acceptable ways to bribe voters. The Biden administration sought to forgive colege loans. Why not mortgages as well? Today, an executive order was announced that is designed to control what is shown on television while the Army-Navy football game is in progress, starting next December. At the same time, the president advertises on television his personal brand of wrist watches. This is not presidential behavior. Enough already!

Internationally, the chaos is more dangerous. Iran, Ukraine, Nigeria, Syria, Venezuela. Is there any place in the world that we don't stick our nose into? Where are American men and women stationed? Where are they fighting unpublicized wars while the War Powers Act is effectively useless and ignored? Greenland and Denmark? Canada as the 51st state? The chief executive of the US has announced his disappointment over not winning the Nobel Peace Prize and therefore is no longer interested only in peace. Threats of 200% tariffs on French products as the French and European Union oppose demands that Greenland, yes Greenland, be turned over to the US have been made. Meanwhie, the President has announced that he is establishing a Board of Peace for reconstructing Gaza. Nations that want to be members of this board must pay $1billion dollars, to be applied to Gaza reconstruction, for membership. At the same time, Vladimir Putin, ruler of social imperialist Russia, someone who fits the definition of a war criminal for his war in Ukraine, has been invited to be a member of this Board of Peace. Multiple American presidents of both parties struggled during the Cold War to eliminate Russian influence in the Middle East, finally succeeding. Inviting the Russian bear into the Middle East would be a major victory for a serious antagonist of the United States and world democracy. The defense budget is now over a trillion dollars, only dwarfed by the debt service on our national debt. How much more of this can we afford? This blog has spoken against our involvment with both NATO and the UN. It has spoken for a revival of the stillborn European Defense Community. But it has never spoken for chaos. The current Greenland mess threatens to blow up NATO. If that happens, the vodka and caviar will flow all night as the Kremlin celebrates. Enough already!

The two major American political parties are under severe internal attack. A "political association" styled as the Democratic Socialsts of America (DSA) has been using, with success, entryism to obtain a foothold and eventuallly control the Democratic Party. This is a Trotskyite technique (see previous posts on Entryism on this blog) refined by the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA) prior to the 1944 US presidential election. The CPUSA dissolved itself, reformed itself as a "political association" and proceeded to pressure the Democratic Party to renominate Henry Wallace as Vice President. Had that occurred, Walllace would have succeeded Franklin Roosevelt who died in April 1945. The CPUSA "political association" ultimately dominated the newly formed Progressive Party which ran Wallace for President in 1948. History can and does repeat itself. The Democrats last three presidential candidates have been utter disasters of one form or another. Hillary Clinton (2016), Joe Biden (2020) and Kamala Harris (2024) were all totally unfit for that office. Biden was elected in 2020, but unfortunately, for him and for the United States, he was way past his prime both physically and mentally and was unfit to serve in that high office. Despite his winnng all the Democratic Party primaries in 2024, a Hollywood and celebrity led institutional coup stole the nomination from him and granted it to his ineffective vice president Kamala Harris. Had she won, we would have a circus like administration as she was noted to giggle whenever a problem was presented to her. Her running mate, Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, described himself as a "knucklehead". Quite a team.

The Republican Party, too, is under attack, by elements that are outside the tradition of the GOP. Many of these characters are ignorant undemocratic racists of various sorts who have infiltrated the party of Lincoln and Reagan. They have no business being Republicans. GOP officials must respond to this and if they want their party to continue to have a future they must fight for its principles. The nation may be facing "Trump fatigue". If so, the midterm elections may be a crushing defeat for the GOP. Remember, in 1958, with a very popular Republican president, Dwight Eisenhower, the GOP was crushed by a democratic victory which then controlled both houses of the Congress for over a generation. This cannot be allowed to happen. One party rule is not healthy for any country. It is incumbent upon republican elected officials and candidates to stand up for their party, their principles, our constitution and our way of life. King Solomon, the wisest of men, is quoted as saying "this too shall pass". Exactly three years from today, a new president will be inaugurated. Both political parties would be wise in considering whom their respective nominees will be.
